Rilasciata beta pubblica di Unifi 2.1.0

Dal forum ufficiale:

We've very excited to announce the public beta of 2.1.0. We added many useful features and addresses many issues we encountered in previous releases.

Before you continue, though, there are a few things you have to know:

This is a beta release. While we've had this running in our office for a while, jumping on it in a production environment is not encouraged
From V1, You'll have to do a fresh install. Make sure you backup your settings. If you're running 2.0.0 already, you'll see it as an upgrade.
Your 1.x.x AP will be automatically upgraded regardless of your "Automatic Upgrade" setting
User Guide with the new features is being updated and a draft will be released as soon as it's available
Please be patient for issues to be looked into and addressed.

New Features

Wireless Uplink
Supports wireless uplink, each wired AP can have up to 4 downlinks
Allows runtime change of network topology
Allows wireless adoption of 2.0.0 APs in default state

L3 Manageability
Allows the controller to run in a different subnet
Allows no-touch AP provisioning by using DHCP Option 43 or DNS
Provides UniFi Discovery utility to make local AP to inform back to the controller in NOC or Cloud

Hotspot with Billing and Customization
Built-in support for billing integration (Paypal) accepting major credit cards and paypal
Built-in support for voucher-base authentication
Built-in hotspot manager for voucher creation, guest management, payment refund
Allows full customization of portal pages

Rate Limiting
You can limit the upload / download speed per WLAN. You can even override it per user.
Allow different rate-limiting and usage-limiting for each hotspot package

Other Enhancements/Bug fixes

Proper TX Power control allowing customized TX-power setting. We'll always show EIRP (mouseover to see how it's calculated if external antenna is used)
Allow setting of WPA1-Only / WPA2-Only, TKIP / CCMP(AES)
Google Map integration (you can use Google Map in the Map view)
Email notification for alerts
Bonjour support: in additional to UPnP, UniFi controller will announce its presence (so you don't have to remember the IP of the controller)
Shows "Managed by Other" for APs that were managed by old controller. An "advanced adoption" option is added to allow take-over.
Controller will check for port availability and display error messages during start up
WPA passphrase now accepting all printable characters (including space at begin / end)

Changes from 2.0.0->2.1.0

fix VLAN MTU issue
fix guest redirect failed sometimes after authorized
correct DHCP option 43 parsing
Hotspot: bandwidth / usage quota limitation per package
Hotspot: teaser package support
Hotspot: allow hostname for portal URL (looks more professional and site will be shown as trusted with paid SSL certificate)
custome SSL certificate import
WLAN Override: add enable/disable, PSK override

Install
Please backup your configuration in case anything goes wrong. Moreover, you'll need it if you plan to restore it into 2.1.0.
On Windows/Mac, 2.1.0 beta will _not_ show up as an update of your existing V1 installation. Please find the installers via the links below. You will have to uninstall your current version.
On Linux, edit your /etc/apt/sources.list (again) to add the beta repository and do 'apt-get install unifi-beta'. Note that unifi-beta will replace your unifi package (and vice versa)

Upgrade
If you're already running 2.0.0, you'll see 2.1.0 as an update on Windows/Mac (Controller checks once a day, force it by restarting it). If you're using apt, 'sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install unifi-beta'.

Downgrade
Assuming you have your configuration backup from, say, 1.3.2, you can remove 2.1.0, install 1.3.2, restore it. Then upgrade all the firmwares on the AP.

How to convert PicoM2 to run UniFi?
1. Download the firmware at HERE
2. In AirOS UI, upgrade with the firmware you downloaded

Notes:
- LED behaves differently and the first 2 LED cannot be disabled
- This process is one way. There's no plan to release a tool to reverse it
- While this firmware can be applied to other models running AirOS, UniFi cannot manage them and such action may void your warranty
